(THANKS ROBERT CUBA!)

" Pinocchio in the Street "is a play produced by Theatre MANITAS (Alicia Olivares, Onassis and Yuri Toro Cárdenas) and directed by Ismael Contreras, the director of" Achikée, the dry land "(which is presented in CAFAE in these days.) I went to see both and are, to my taste, very good. In this post I will talk about "Pinocchio in the Street" (also Achikée will talk about later.)

My friends are acting Toro Onassis, my co-star in "The Teacher" in 2007; Lloclla Mayella (needs no introduction); César Chirinos, mime, a tremendous plus to develop their characters, and Balbín Lolo, whom I have just seen, but which I found very good work.

Actually, I recommend it. For a long time children's theater (for young audiences) in Lima, at least, has been calling for works that do not treat them as if they realized things like fools. The proposals for children's theater, whether on medieval fairy tales, adaptations other stories, original artwork or music, whatever, should consider that the young audience is demanding, especially at this time where circumstances make them see things less and less innocence. And now it is difficult to prevent children compare what they see on a stage with the daily life of street children begging, exploitation, poverty, danger, etc. The two plays I have seen of Ishmael, in fact, have weathered these details, combining the everyday reality and fantasy. In addition, many references used traditional Peruvian hits while pop culture references. It's fun, really! The figure of the Fairy Godmother is replaced by a spirit of trees in the Peruvian Amazon, there are acrobatics and even a nod to Michael Jackson

Lloclla Mayella's performance, Onassis Toro, Cesar Balbin Chirinos and Lolo is very good, and I do not mean just because they are my friends or has shared the stage above. Anyone who can see the scene working very well made using physicality and being cleverly mounting. Handyman Theatre has taken him all too well. See it. I do, I hesitated a lot. I've done theater for children and well, I guess. So if an assembly amuses me and makes me think at the same time, what is not fun and learn a child here? I had so much fun.
